AI use and engineering ownership.

A direct account of where Project Caligo uses AI tools, how every output is reviewed, and where human engineering remains central.

Last updated 16 July 2026
In brief

The website was created with AI assistance and reviewed by our team.

Mirage is thousands of lines of software written and maintained directly by our developers.

1. Why we publish this

Project Caligo values clear authorship and accountable engineering. AI tools can contribute very differently across design, documentation, infrastructure, and product development, so we describe their role by workstream.

Responsibility for every Project Caligo decision, claim, deployment, and deliverable remains with our team.

2. This website

This website, including its code, written content, layout implementation, and imagery, was created through AI tools under our direction. Every image used on the website was generated with AI tools. Web development is outside our team's principal field, so AI helped us turn our product knowledge and visual direction into a complete public website.

Our team defined the product facts, brand goals, structure, legal requirements, and acceptance criteria. We reviewed the resulting copy, code, imagery, links, forms, security boundaries, responsive behavior, and production build before publication.

3. Mirage engineering

Mirage is human-engineered software. Its proprietary JAR contains thousands of lines written and maintained directly by our developers. Mirage product code is authored by the team building and operating it, together with its architecture, server behavior, and integration decisions.

The distinction is important to us. The website communicates the product. Mirage is the product, and its engineering remains the direct work of its developers.

4. The team behind the work

BENZOOgataga

Systems engineer and infrastructure architect with systems, network administration, hosting, and operational experience.

Lodjo

Experienced software developer responsible for product engineering and long-term code quality.

Together, the team combines infrastructure assessment, network architecture, deployment planning, software development, and ongoing operation. This is the expertise used to review each network and shape a Mirage agreement around its needs.

5. Where AI can assist

We see AI as a tool for extending capability in secondary domains and accelerating repetitive work. It can assist with documentation drafts, large setup sequences, structured configuration work, research organisation, and presentation tasks.

Every output is reviewed against the relevant system, source material, security expectation, and intended result. Testing and verification are part of the work, and accountability stays with us.

6. Our principle

The closer work is to our professional expertise, public trust, or the core Mirage product, the more directly our team authors and controls it. AI is most useful where it helps specialists communicate, organise, or execute beyond their active field.

Tools can accelerate production. Expertise determines what should exist, whether it is correct, and whether it is ready to ship.
